Mr。 Silvia’s creative approach and character development shines in his latest spy thriller。 He is one of my favorite spy story masters。 Gabriel Allon is a master spy who is always up for a challenging mission。

Love Daniel Silva。 Each Gabriel Allon is so well written。The plot keeps my interest。The characters are brave and intense。I received a signed first edition from attending a zoom presented by a library。Loved reading this book。

It has been difficult for me reading the first few chapters to really focus on the story。 I was impatiently waiting for the moment when, as in the previous works of Daniel Silva, I would feel this famous page turner feeling。 The author once again succeeded in conquering me and the last 300th last pages (out of 458) of the book cost me a night's sleep。 We love it! And I strongly suggest for you to read the author's notes。 It has been difficult for me reading the first few chapters to really focus on the story。 I was impatiently waiting for the moment when, as in the previous works of Daniel Silva, I would feel this famous page turner feeling。 The author once again succeeded in conquering me and the last 300th last pages (out of 458) of the book cost me a night's sleep。 We love it! Another wonderful book by Daniel Silva。 At first I was dismayed with the amount of time it took Gabriel Allon to gather his team together from all his previous books。 And then there was a lot of financial wheeling and dealing going on。 The real action started about page 350, but once it started, it was great。 Great ending。

This was a fun, fast read。 I really enjoyed the up-to-date discussion of the current political environment in the US and abroad, and how it impacts the world。 The money laundering lessons were eye opening。

Another great Gabriel Allon novel。 Nobody writes espionage fiction like Daniel Silva。 Great characters, international intrigue, and a well paced plot kept me reading late into the night。 This is the 21st book in the series and it is every bit as good as the preceding 20。 I can't wait to read the 22nd book。 Highly recommended Another great Gabriel Allon novel。 Nobody writes espionage fiction like Daniel Silva。 Great characters, international intrigue, and a well paced plot kept me reading late into the night。 This is the 21st book in the series and it is every bit as good as the preceding 20。 I can't wait to read the 22nd book。 Highly recommended 。。。more

Definitely worth readingThe first half was tedious and several reviews mentioned this。 I read other reviews and almost stopped; one review did not like the ending either! However I continued and totally enjoyed the whole second half。 This was the first book I read that included the pandemic social behavior so it seemed so relevant。 It also included much about Putin’s serious autocratic behavior although never mentioning him by name。 I loved the details about the classical music being played be A Definitely worth readingThe first half was tedious and several reviews mentioned this。 I read other reviews and almost stopped; one review did not like the ending either! What happened?!? I've listened to every book in the series on Audio books。 I'm a huge fan。 Then this new narrator。 I'm giving up, after two chapters。 Can't get past this narrator's unchanging resigned, accusatory tone, his distortion of accents and familiar personalities, his insertion of himself when he should be invisible。 Moreover, the story itself feels forced, awkward, and uninspired。 I'm out。 What happened?!? I don't know what all the kvetching is about Silva's so-called agenda。 He's in the business of taking real geopolitical situations and making engaging spy fiction。 That's just what he did here in a pretty good rendition of the pandemic and the events roiling American politics at the time。 He poses a pro-Russian administration -- it was -- and the help and hindrances that might provide in his completely imaginary situation。 The epilogue provided a dispassionate review of the factual events provid I don't know what all the kvetching is about Silva's so-called agenda。 He's in the business of taking real geopolitical situations and making engaging spy fiction。 That's just what he did here in a pretty good rendition of the pandemic and the events roiling American politics at the time。 He poses a pro-Russian administration -- it was -- and the help and hindrances that might provide in his completely imaginary situation。 The epilogue provided a dispassionate review of the factual events providing a backdrop to his fiction。 It was a terrific summary and reminder of the events we all lived through。 He does an excellent job "seeing" these events through his spymaster's eyes, a spymaster who's had a point of view throughout 20-some books。 More people should read this book and contemplate how chaotic politics in the world's leading economic and military power can have profound effects globally。 Enjoy the fiction。 。。。more

Got unnecessarily political at the end。 Otherwise fun read in audiobook。

As always, Daniel Silva does not disappoint。 "The Cellist" is an engaging tour de force, replete with so much realistic detail as to make you think you're there as part of the plot。 I've read about 10 of Silva's books, and while they are sometimes formulaic, they are never dull as the pages seem to turn without the use of my fingers。 "The Cellist" is no exception, and readers should be prepared for quite a ride! A story about Russian money laundering, with a backdrop of COVID and QAnon。 Not the best Allon novel, but better than The Order。 Very little tension in the book。 I'll keep reading the series, but the best books are in the past A story about Russian money laundering, with a backdrop of COVID and QAnon。 Not the best Allon novel, but better than The Order。 Very little tension in the book。 I'll keep reading the series, but the best books are in the past 。。。more

。。。more

This book is so confusing。 I doubt that I will finish it。

Lindsay K。 J。

I love this series, but this wasn’t the best。

This was a good one。 Gabriel Allon, et al, take on one of the big banks that launders the dirty money of the Russian oligarchs。 Daniel Silva did a great job telling the story with a few cool character angles and plot twists。

Morgan Kinghorn

Same type of story line pretty well done snd then more or less ruined by using gratuitous and long debunked nonsense about an election that certainly seems to be about 2020! Last one of these I read。 I’m sure the lefties will love it。

You can never go wrong with Gabriel Allon and Daniel Silva。 Another thriller based in Russia but takes you all around Europe。 Some real twists and turn here with the usual cast of characters。 If you are not a fan of this series, start now。 You won’t regret it。

A new series to binge! I really enjoyed this read and even though it was huge, I didn't feel like there was so much。 There were a lot of characters and sometimes it was hard to keep track of all of them but it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would。 Silva incorporated the US 2020 election events in the story and I think it was an important incorporation。 I loved how Silva didn't shy away but talked about how that event traumatized American Democracy。 This is an important read but also su A new series to binge! I've read every book Silva has written even before the character Gabriel Allon ever existed。 I also was excited to step into the new adventure of The Cellist。 Unfortunately, it was quite disjointed and not very exciting。 Quite disappointed as I feel Allon has "run its course" as a character with Silva running out of ideas。 I've read every book Silva has written even before the character Gabriel Allon ever existed。 I also was excited to step into the new adventure of The Cellist。 Unfortunately, it was quite disjointed and not very exciting。 Quite disappointed as I feel Allon has "run its course" as a character with Silva running out of ideas。 。。。more

Very DisappointingI have always anxiously awaited the next Silva book, but this will be my last。 He's such a talented writer but if I wanted to read opinion about the 2020 election I would pick up a newspaper。 I'm sick of it。 It ruined the book in my mind。 Stick to Gabriel Allon and stop the political scrap。 Very DisappointingI have always anxiously awaited the next Silva book, but this will be my last。 He's such a talented writer but if I wanted to read opinion about the 2020 election I would pick up a newspaper。 I'm sick of it。 It ruined the book in my mind。 Stick to Gabriel Allon and stop the political scrap。 。。。more

Although I was excited for this one to come out in the series I was disappointed。 The book spent so much time connecting with past events in the previous novels in the series, it took forever for the current plot to get moving。

Yawn。 This is my last Gabriel Allon novel。 Used to be a guaranteed spy thriller, but this was just a lot of political opining, gesticulating and aggrandizing。 And, Silva leans way left! He totally dismisses 50% of the US population with his breezy generalizations, heaping insults on the prior president with his version of the facts (his wife is a CNN correspondent, LOL)。 Democracy nearly died on 1/6/2021! I don't know whether it's me or Silva is getting tired of writing Gabriel Allon novels。 This one was exhausting。 The story should have ended with the chalet events (no spoilers here)。 His COVID message was beaten to death, and his own political spewing was unrelated to the real plot of this novel。 It's one thing to include realistic references, but he went too far。 The last 70+ pages were unnecessary。 Allon needs to retire, so Silva can breathe fresh life into a new character。 I don't know whether it's me or Silva is getting tired of writing Gabriel Allon novels。 This one was exhausting。 The story should have ended with the chalet events (no spoilers here)。 His COVID message was beaten to death, and his own political spewing was unrelated to the real plot of this novel。 It's one thing to include realistic references, but he went too far。 The last 70+ pages were unnecessary。 Allon needs to retire, so Silva can breathe fresh life into a new character。 。。。more
